NATO leaders have signed off on Obama's exit strategy from Afghanistan. It was announced at the conclusion of a two day summit in Chicago . It calls for an end to combat operations next year , the handing over of Security responsibilities to Afghan forces in 2013; and finally….the withdrawal of the U.S.-led international military force by the end of 2014.

The Toronto District School Board has suspended the license of a Muslim school that was using teaching materials which denigrated Jews and encouraged boys to keep fit for jihad. The Islamic Shia Study Centre operated the East End Madrassah in a Toronto high school, until an outcry last week that prompted an investigation by the York Region Police hate crimes unit.

The high profile and emotional Canadian murder trial of 8 year old Tori Stafford is over. Michael Rafferty has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years. He was convicted of first-degree murder, in the kidnapping and sexual assault causing bodily harm of the child.
