Saddleback Church will be cancelling worship services on the weekend of Dec. 10, 11 in order for its members to participate in Good Neighbor Weekend. Volunteer opportunities include visiting severely disabled children in hospitals, serving breakfast to homeless and families living in motels, and helping families having members in the military stationed away from home with house chores, June 2011.

There may be many times in our lives when we feel we want to give more to those who need help. Most of the time we help those in need with money, but that is not the only way you can give to others. We can all give something, whether its time, help run errands, lift something up for someone, or even speaking to someone who needs it.

Jesus helped all those who were in need of Him. He loved all of his people equally and healed those who were in need of his touch.

Below are 5 Bible verses that Jesus spoke about helping others:

Matthew 5:16 - In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Luke 3:10-11 - And the crowds asked him, "What then shall we do?" And he answered them, "Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise."

John 15:12 - "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you…"

Matthew 5:42 - Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.

Luke 12:33-34 - Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
