Amazing Rendition of 'His Eye is On the Sparrow' By a 12-Year-Old!
This little boy's intensity will give your heart wings. "His Eye is on the Sparrow" was a hymn written in 1905 and was so treasured by certain singers and performers that one, Ethel Waters, even named her autobiography after it. The song is considered a staple of worship in many church communities across the country.
The inspiration is for this hymn occured when songwriter Civilia Martin had a conversation with a friend who had suffered many afflictions yet remained cheerful and bright. Civilia asked her what her secret to a happy, hopeful life was. The friend replied that she simply remembered that "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." These words combined with this inspirational performance should give us the confidence to remain hopeful, with our eyes set firmly on Jesus, who from our cares can set us free.
