Critical Spirit In The Church Today

If you never watched "American Idol", you might not get the humor I'm attempting to get across. If you are a regular viewer of "A.I.", then you'll probably appreciate the bandage on Paula's nose.

In either case, it is not good to sit in critical judgement of others, especially those in leadership. If your church is faithfully administering the sacraments and proclaiming the whole counsel of God's Word, then we, as disciples of Christ, need to humbly submit to one another and to those whom God has placed over us. Obedience to those in leadership is a tangible expression of our obedience to God.

So stop being a "Mr. Nasty" and instead be a joy to those who keep watch over you.

-HAP

"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you." -Hebrews 13:17
