17,000 at Beth Moore's Conference to Stir Christians to Action

Famous Bible study teacher and best-seller, Beth Moore held a conference June 3-4 that attracted 17,000 to the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. The event, "How Great Thou Art," exhorted women to "wake up" and "take action" against the political, historical and scientific "assault" on the American mind, according to a press release by LifeWay Christian Resources.

“You and I have got to wake up because the hour is late and much work against us has already been accomplished,” Moore said. She encouraged women to study the Word of God and become Kingdom warriors for battle.

“We have come together to hear what I believe is God’s state of the spiritual union address in the nation we call home,” said Moore, asking Christians to take action.

Presented by LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, Moore cited 1 Peter 1:13-15, which states: "Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do."

“It is not the impossible dream," she encouraged. " It is a practical reality that takes place on the hot pavement of our lives.”

Through her Bible study resources, weekend conferences, and radio program, Beth is teaching women to stand know the Word of God, and to live it. Moore is the founder of Living Proof Ministries and the author of 15 books, according to LifeWay's website, where her products are featured.

After expounding on the political, historical and scientific assaults, she told the women to prepare the mind for action, including paying obedience to Jesus Christ, Moore said and cited 2 Corinthians 10:5, which states “Every one of us has a call on our life. Your life was meant to bear fruit to the glory of God.”
