2015 Assassin's Creed Victory Rumors, Update: Ubisoft 'Disappointed' by Asset Leak

Another sequel for the hugely-popular role-playing action game "Assassin's Creed" is set for release in 2015 and reports indicated that it will be set in 19th-century London, which is during the Victorian era, to be exact.

The news coming from Kotaku indicated that the upcoming installment will be called "Assassin's Creed: Victory."

PC Gamer, meanwhile, also wrote that the development of "AC: Victory" will be spearheaded by Ubisoft Quebec headquarters. The site further said that Victory will be the "only main" AC game to be released in 2015, and the studio is currently planning to unveil the RPG "in the fall" of that year.

The game is also said to be released for current-gen consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as on PC.

The game-centric publication site even went on to say that a seven-minute-long "target gameplay footage" was released by a still unnamed Ubisoft staffer. The video, as described, is said to bear a quality that "could pass as an E3 presentation."

As featured in the clip, the mission for Victory will once again delve on the Assassins pitting against the Templars. It even showed a new maneuver called a "grappling hook" that will enable the player to get his assassin move "vertically."

In response to the leak, Ubisoft posted a statement confirming (somehow) an "Assassin's Creed: Victory" as well as expressing their disappointment over the disclosure.

The press release from the studio reads:

"It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public."

"The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."
