2016 Oscars Predictions: Voting Officially Closes as Leonardo DiCaprio Remains Strong in Multiple Predictions

As this year's Oscars continue to shatter the nerves of both nominees and fans alike, voting lines have officially closed, and with judgment day coming ever so near, Leonardo DiCaprio's name remains the most popular among outlets and experts.

For the past months following his big win at the Golden Globes, DiCaprio has arguably become the biggest bet in the Best Actor category. There are so many reasons the actor should win, but The New Yorker notes one aspect of his acting that is worth the gold.

Fans know very well that actors and actresses are paid for the entertainment they bring to the people. In "The Revenant," which is, by the way, one of the biggest contenders in the Best Picture category, DiCaprio endured rigorous shooting conditions such as the extremely cold weather and having to wait for the sun to come out just to shoot with some daylight.

Aside from the fairly difficult set conditions, DiCaprio also managed to eat raw liver — an act that has taken his acting level one notch higher than that of the rest of the actors vying to get the award. DiCaprio actually exerted more effort just to entertain viewers, the outlet says.

Deadline also states that 2016 is DiCaprio's year, no matter how amazing the other nominees are. Other previous reports have claimed that it's about time the Oscars give DiCaprio a nod, after so many years of putting him on the line for his spectacular performances.

Meanwhile, some experts believe that this year's Oscars is the most difficult to predict, putting aside DiCaprio's sure win. There have been some doubts after "The Martian" director Ridley Scott failed to secure a spot in the Best Director category. A lot of people believe that he would either be nominated or win the prize, but it turns out the Oscars had other plans in mind.

It is also worth noting that several African-American Hollywood stars called for a boycott earlier his year after noticing that the categories failed to explain why this year was an all-white nomination.

While the battle for a more diverse nomination continues, fans will just have to tune in when the 88th Academy Awards draws the cards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Feb. 28, to find out if the winners are justified by their awards.
