Jacksonville, Florida Celebrates 4th of July with Various Festivities

Fourth of July celebrations in Jacksonville, Florida are already starting, but there's more to come. Expect to see a lot of awesome events and fireworks displays. Loud music, hotdogs and fireworks are just some of the things to look out for during this star-spangled occasion.

On Saturday, July 2, there will be a Militia Muster and Training from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fort Moses State Park. New Militia members will be taught how historic weapons are used as well as safety precautions. There will be weapons demonstrations and militia training for children.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, a Union Garrison will be held at Fort Clinch State Park, featuring demonstrations on soldier drills, medical activities and powder artillery. Interlachen Celebration, a ceremony celebrating veterans, will start with a parade at 10 a.m., then fireworks at 9 p.m. Baker County Celebration will feature food, vendors, crafts, and fireworks at 9 p.m.

On Sunday, July 3, there will be music and fireworks starting at 5 p.m. to 9:3 p.m. This will be held at the World Golf Village. There will also be a baseball game between the Tennesse Smokies vs Jacksonville Suns at 6.05 p.m.

Monday, July 4, will be filled with activities, starting with an Independence Day 4-miler at 7 a.m. The traditional flag raising ceremony will be held at 7:30 a.m, at the front entrance of the Penney Retirement Community. There will also be a 5K Celebration race starting at 7.30 a.m. at First Place Sports, where participants will enjoy free food and an American flag they will carry during their run.

A parade will start at 9 a.m. from Advanced Auto to Palmetto Street.

American Pride 4th of July will open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Moosehaven. It will showcase live entertainment, food vendors and a Kids Zone.

All American Party and Fireworks will start at 3 P.M. to 1 A.M. at the Jacksonville Landing.
Red, White and Deep Blue celebration will start at 9.15 P.M. at Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island. It features All-American barbecue, fireworks, games and live music.

Best Places to Watch

Fireworks are expected to start at 9.45 p.m. You can watch the colorful and explosive spectacle from the Southbank and Northbank of St. Johns River. You can also get a viewpoint of the fireworks at Friendship Fountain; just remember to bring a chair with you.

St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida will be an avenue for fireworks, music and other festive events beginning 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Activities include fireworks from river barges, food and drinks, live presentations and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Fireworks will also be launched from the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier. Basically every part of the beach is a good vantage point, so all you need to do is to bring chairs or blankets and find a spot on the sand and you're good to go.

Fourth of July Performers

Ten local and national recording artists, as well as some of the best area school music students, will perform during the 5th annual I Love Music Tour on July 2 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. This tour will feature R&B sensation GUDGUD. Other performs are Princess King, Tiffanie Green, All$tarr, Ripp N Redd and Traded Youth.

Live music will be played on July 3 at the World Golf Village featuring Dustin Bradley and Charlie Walker. On July 4, a RAM Independence Day party will also be held from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Chris Jansen and Brittney Lawrence and the Guys will also have a concert at Moosehaven from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
