50 Shades of Grey Movie Cast Rumors: Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele to Go to Charlie Hunnam, Dakota Johnson? (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

50 Shades of Grey movie cast rumors are revving into overdrive with the latest news indicating that Charlie Hunnam may be cast as Christian Grey in the film, and that Dakota Johnson may be lined up to Anastasia Steele.

Hunnam becomes the latest in a huge string of actors named as being considered for the role. The rumors surrounding Hunnam were sparked by a report in TWITCH, however, as yet, representatives for the actor have not said anything public about him being connected to the movie.

Hunnam, who stars on "Sons of Anarchy" and played the lead in this summer's "Pacific Rim," joins Garrett Hedlund and Ian Sommerhalder as Hollywood actors being mentioned in rumors for casting surrounding Christian Grey. Although Hedlund and Sommerhalder were early favorites for the role, in recent weeks the rumors about them have seemed to die down, and neither are now likely to get the role, according to rumors.

Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson is now also being named for the female lead role as Anastasia Steele. The "21 Jump Street" starlet doesn't have the role in the bag just yet, but according to The Wrap, she's a "serious contender."

Johnson becomes the latest actress being named in rumors surrounding Steele, with previous contenders including Lily Collins, Emma Watson, Shailene Woodley, Alicia Vikander and Analeigh Tipton.

The rumors over who will play the two lead roles have been circulating for months now, and many names have come and gone.

For Grey, Ryan Gosling, Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder and Henry Cavill are all supposedly out of the running, considering E.L. James apparently does not want an A-list actor to play Grey.

There should be a cast announcement soon regarding the characters, which will finally put the rumors to rest. The adaptation of E L James' best-selling book is due out in theaters on Aug. 1, 2014.

In other recent news surrounding the movie, Sam Taylor-Johnson has been hired as director for the 50 Shades of Grey film, and a script will be created by Kelly Marcel.
