A 90-year-old man has more guts than most teenagers, jumping out of a plane as a birthday gift to himself on Sunday.

Former World War II Navy pilot Lester Slate made the big leap with a tandem jumper in Maine, according to The Associated Press. He said none other than former President George H. Bush is the inspiration for his daring adventure. Bush had made a similar sky-high leap from a plane three years ago on his 85th birthday, according to the Bangor Daily News.

This is Slate's first jump, but he enjoyed it so much he wants to do it again on his 95th or 100th birthday.
