$99 HP Touchpad Sale: When Will the Touchpad’s be Available?

Consumers have anxiously been awaiting HP’s release of more TouchPads since the company slashed prices this summer and created consumer frenzy selling out of its remaining devices throughout the United States and Canada.

The company announced that it would be releasing more TouchPad's on Aug. 30 via its TheNextBench blog saying, “Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand.”

However the company did not announce just when those TouchPads would hit the market and restless consumers have been wondering just how many and when HP’s new batch of TouchPads would hit the market.

The closest hint the company gave to interested customers was that it would be manufacturing a “limited quantity” of TouchPads with webOS during the company’s fourth fiscal quarter of 2011, which ends on Oct. 31.

The company did address many consumers concerns that there will not be enough TouchPads saying, “We can’t promise we’ll have enough for everyone.”

However, according to a DigiTimes report, HP is going to begin shipping 200,000 Touchpad units, including touch panels, batteries, and chassis.

Thus, it appears that it is likely that the new TouchPads will hit the market by the end of this month, however, sellers will be granted the liberty to determine their own prices for the device, meaning that the $99 TouchPad steal may not be available everywhere.

Some tech experts argued back in August when the nation was inundated with TouchPad frenzy that even with the discounted price, the tablet was simply not worth the bargain.

Tech experts argued that the device struggles from both hardware and software issues and that there is no future for the product.

Neverthless, technology gurus have not been able to subdue consumer interest in the cheap TouchPad and once HP finally announces it has released its remaining TouchPads the nation is likely to go into a frenzy once again over the product.
