Adam Lanza was "removed" from the world, according to his former hairstylist who had known Lanza for four years.
Adam LanzaDiane Skuba says that she cut Adam Lanza's hair for a four-year period, during which he never spoke a word to her. Instead, Adam only responded to his mother's directions and failed to leave his chair until his mother told him to do so.
"He would just sit there and not speak. And I'll tell you the honest truth, as a mother, I just thought the child couldn't speak. I never gave it a second thought. I thought he couldn't speak," Skuba said according to the L.A. Times. "He only went on his mother's direction."
When the haircut was over, Skuba also said Lanza never moved from his seat until his mother said to do so. Before he left, he didn't check his hair.
"When you get a haircut, do you look to see what the heck you look like? He never looked. So we knew instantly, immediately, that there was some kind of a problem," she said.
Skuba also acknowledged that she a had some clients whose children suffered from autism. But she did not believe that Adam was suffering from the same condition.
"We have a few clients that their children suffer from being autistic, but he was just - I don't even think withdrawn is the right word," Skuba reflected before deciding on the word.
"Removed," Skuba said.
She also said that she had not seen the Lanzas for the past 3 years.
New reports have revealed that Adam Lanza had gotten into an altercation with four teachers at the school, the day before the shooting. His mother had also volunteered at the school and was friends with at least two of the school administrators. Three of the teachers that Lanza had fought with were killed; one had been absent the day the shooting occurred.
A former barber who identified himself as Bob, according to Hollywood Life, also recalled Lanza and said that he never spoke while getting haircuts.

"It's just weird that I actually touched him," the barber said, according to Hollywood Life. "I'd tried to joke with him. He wouldn't even look at me. He would just be looking down at the tiles the whole time."
