'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' updates, spoilers: Will Aida kill Superior? Show takes hiatus, returns in April

Fans will see if Aida (Mallory Jansen) decides to keep Superior (Anton Ivanov) alive in the upcoming episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," titled "Self-Control."

Previously, Superior's life was put in danger after sustaining fatal injuries because of Quake. While he is now ready to die in the hands of Aida, the Life Model Decoy (LMD) is torn between killing him and saving him because she needs him to accomplish her prime directive to guard the Framework.

"I don't want to live as a festering cripple. And you better not be talking about messing with my brain. I don't want to be a thing like you," Superior said in the promo clip. The video teases that the episode will be action-packed as the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. is replaced by LMDs.

At this point in the Marvel series, the life of Superior is in the hands of Aida. Since the beginning, Superior has abhorred Inhumans and LMDs, as well as humans who do not share the same abhorrence to such creatures as him. This explains why he has been very callous towards Aida despite her and Dr. Radcliffe's (John Hannah) efforts to aid the Watchdogs in furthering their crusade.

"Self-Control" marks the end of the LMD story arc and sets the stage for the next slate of episodes. The synopsis for the episode reads, "S.H.I.E.L.D. is overrun by LMDs. There is no one to trust — Suspicion turns to paranoia when the team doesn't know who can be trusted as more LMDs infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D."

Meanwhile, the series will take a long break after this week's episode as it goes off the air for the next six weeks and returns on April 4. According to Comicbook, the last pod of episodes will carry the series to a May 16 season finale.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
