Amanda Bynes Arrested: Accused of Tossing Bong Outside Apartment Window (VIDEO)

Amanda Bynes has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment after allegedly throwing a bong pipe out of her apartment window on Thursday.

A doorman inside the troubled actress' Manhattan apartment building reportedly called police claiming she was smoking marijuana in the lobby. When Police entered Bynes' high-rise apartment, the former child star allegedly tossed a foot-long bong pipe, often used to smoke marijuana, outside of her 36th floor window, police have said.

Officers reportedly noted a "heavy smell of marijuana and smoke" and subsequently Bynes was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and criminal possession of marijuana, according to NBC News.

The former Nickelodeon star, 27, was reportedly first transported to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and later sent to Manhattan central booking for legal processing.

The arrest comes two weeks after Bynes was sentenced to three years probation and slapped with a $300 fine in relation to driving charges. In addition to driving without a valid license she was also previously arrested and charged with a DUI and accused of a hit-and-run at least twice all on separate occasions.

Bynes has displayed a series of bizarre behavior in recent months which includes posting sexually explicit and offensive tweets, which has raised widespread concern for her mental well being. The troubled actress has also been photographed acting strangely during random solo outings in New York City, where she moved in December shortly after she began experiencing legal woes in L.A.

On Wednesday Bynes threatened to sue a U.S. tabloid magazine which published troubling photographs of her at a drug fueled party. While at least two party guests claimed to have seen her smoking marijuana, she denied the claims.

"They're the ones into drugs, so they bring drugs, but I don't do them," Bynes allegedly told In Touch magazine.
