Now that it has been taken care of by the lineup, the tech giant's next mission seems to be to integrate Alexa in cars. Recent reports have revealed that they are one step inside the automobile market through the cars from Nissan.

According to reports, Ford, Volkswagen, and BMW seem to be onboard in bringing Alexa into automobiles. The automakers announced during the Consumer Electrics Show (CES) this year that they are in talks with Amazon in bringing Alexa into their lineups. However, it seems that Japanese-based car giant, Nissan, would like to stay ahead of the race as they have recently announced that they will be launching an Alexa skill this month for certain models. Dubbed as the "NissanConnect Services," the technology will allow users to control their cars remotely.

Furthermore, the functions will include support for letting Alexa flash the car's lights, unlocking the car door, activating the horn, and more. Users will be given a guide for simple commands on how to make Alexa do their bidding.

Compatible vehicles include those that were released from 2016, and the list includes Nissan Altima, Armada, GT-R, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport Sentra, Titan, and Titan XD. Moreover, the upcoming Nissan Leaf, which is the company's flagship electric vehicle, will allow Alexa to monitor battery status and charge, among other secondary functions such temperature and climate control of the car.

Although Google has been working hard to get consumers to support their Google Assistant, it seems that Amazon is determined to stay ahead and keep the distance. Google and Apple have their own thrusts to focus on, but if Amazon is going to keep up the pace, fans believe that the tech giants will have a hard time keeping up.
