'American Crime Story' Trailer Released For 'The People V. O.J. Simpson'

The upcoming true crime anthology series "American Crime Story" has released the first full trailer for the show, two months before the show's premiere on the FX network slated for February 2, 2016. According to a report in IGN, the show's first season will focus on the O.J. Simpson trial for murder and is sub-titled "The People v. O.J. Simpson." The trailer features scenes with the show's main cast members such as Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J., John Travolta as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, Courtney B. Vance as defense lead Johnny Cochran, Jr. and David Schwimmer as defense attorney Robert Kardashian.

This is the show's first full trailer after releasing several teaser trailers in the past two months. According to the trailer, the 10-episode series promises to be the real story behind the trial. In between scenes of the white Bronco chase, the trial and the personalities involved, the trailer text said: "You saw the chase, the trial, but you didn't see the half of it. The trial isn't the whole story. This is."

The trailer also gave viewers a peek at the tensions that the show will highlight, such as the tension felt by prosecutor Marcia Clark who is suddenly thrust into the public eye because of the trial, or the tension felt by Robert Kardashian who is a friend of O.J. and served as a defense attorney but is also being accused by his wife, Kris Kardashian, of turning his back on the victim, Nicole.

The show is based on a book by Jeffrey Toobin titled "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson," and is executive produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Travolta is also a producer. The book is said to provide a detailed look of the trial based on the different perspectives of the lawyers who were involved in the case.

The show is set to premiere on FX on February 2, 2016.
