Amy Winehouse spent the last week of her short and troubled life in an alcoholic, drug-fueled fog -- which she capped by purchasing a stockpile of powerful narcotics at a London bar just hours before her death, according to some of her friends and British newspaper reports.

Those drugs included cocaine, Ecstasy, heroin and ketamine, an animal tranquilizer that is taken illegally for its psychedelic effects. It was reported that her final days were squandered in such a haze that even those who had watched her tumble from the top of the charts to a 27-year-old train wreck were left stunned.

Some family members and friends were concerned about the singer’s increasingly erratic behavior, however, their concerns did not stop the singer from fueling her addiction.

"She has spent the last seven days on a massive bender, and people were saying she's going to drink herself to death," one friend told the Daily Mirror, a British tabloid.

The final straw may have been a lethal combination of alcohol and a "bad" Ecstasy pill, according to friends with her just hours before she was found dead. That dangerous blend came after she was spotted buying drugs from a well-known dealer, The People reported.

Her last public appearance came three days before her death, when she briefly joined her goddaughter, singer Dionne Bromfield, on stage at The Roundhouse in Camden, just around the corner from her home. Fans booed her off stage as she appeared drugged and incoherent slurring the lyrics to her songs.

Winehouse has consistently made headlines in media tabloids because of her drug- fueled and alcoholic binges during her concerts and nights of partying.

The singer’s mother said the she appeared “out of it” the day before she died, according to a British newspaper and felt her demise was only a matter of time.

Winehouse is survived by her parents and an older brother. Her funeral was held in North London on Tuesday July 26. Autopsy reports came back inconclusive and toxicology reports will take 3-4 weeks for a conclusive reason why Winehouse died.
