Android 5.1 Lollipop Update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 News: Rumors Debunk Device Update

The previous week found a slew of tech rumors pointing out that Samsung is currently planning to give their 2014 phablet flagship, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update and that it might also bring along the newest version of TouchWiz, which debuted on this year's Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

According to Phone Arena, which cited YouMobile, the mobile OS upgrade would give the device the new bloatware-free UI version that will allow it to run with more efficiency as it is now 40 percent lighter than its predecessor.

As it turns out, these talks are nothing but pure hearsay.

A report from Sam Mobile pointed out that the recent statement from YouMobile, like most of its previous stories, "have always failed to materialize into something concrete" and is "baseless."

Sam Mobile clarifies things by citing their "trusted" insiders saying that "Samsung is not working on Android 5.1 for any of its devices at the moment" let alone the handset in question.

The site went on to dish out rumors saying that the South Korean tech company is rolling out the latest version of its UX to Note 4 with the OS update.

To the disappointment of the Galaxy Note 4 users, it is reiterated that the said smartphone will be staying on Android 5.0.x "for the foreseeable future."

Along with this news, the publication said that Samsung is currently focused in bringing the Lollipop updates to its Galaxy A lineup which includes the Galaxy A3, A5 and the A7. However, it is not indicated as to when the update will roll out for the said devices.
