Android 5.1 OS Coming to Entry-Level Moto E (2nd Gen) Smartphone

The Motorola Moto E (second generation) is proof that the company is looking to bank on the success of its popular devices. Other examples to these kinds of Motorola phones are the Moto G and Moto X, both of which have come in several versions.

Now that Motorola has done a good job in updating the hardware department of its devices, it is now time to update the software features.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Verizon version of Motorola's Moto E (second gen) has already begun receiving the latest major update, version Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Aside from bringing UI improvements, the new update will also provide tweaked volume panel icons, an added pull down option for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and a fix to prevent accidental swipes.

Considering that the global version of the Motorola Moto E (second gen) has received the 5.1 Lollipop update last month, it is not so bad for Verizon's edition.

The Moto E is an entry-level handset that has some decent specs that makes it a good secondary smartphone. The device has a 4.5-inch display with qHD (960 x 540) resolution, 1GB of RAM, Snapdragon 410, and an 8GB built-in memory.

Also on board is a 5MP primary shooter, VGA front cam, a microSD card slot, and 2,390mAh of battery.

So do you have the Moto E (2nd gen) from Verizon and have you received the update? What do you think about it?
