The latest Android Nougat 7.1 update may give smartphones a new option.

According to rumors, the latest Android 7.1 OS update may give smartphones and Android devices the reboot option. There are also rumors that the reboot function may only be exclusive to the upcoming Pixel phones by Google.

Reboot Option for Android Devices via Android 7.1 Nougat Update?
According to an unnamed source cited by Android Police, the latest Android 7.1 update may add the long-awaited reboot button to Android devices. It is not clear if other devices that don't run on Android 7.1 out of the box will also have the option when they install the update on their devices.

Google Pixel, Pixel XL to Have Reboot Buttons?
Samsung and LG seem to have no problem incorporating the reboot button on their Android devices, but the same could not be said for Google and their devices. It is not known why they have not added this feature yet.

There have been rumors that the Google Pixel and Pixel XL will be having the Android 7.1 Nougat as their default OS. Due to this, the software may have its own reboot button because of it. However, the reboot button may not make it out of the testing phase according to the outlet. The reboot function may only be there to make it easier for developers and testers of the Android 7.1 Nougat update.

Google Pixel, Pixel XL Specs, Features, Release Date
The coming of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL is rumored to herald the change of the company's branding. Mirror wrote that Google may be favoring to brand their smartphones using the Pixel line instead of Nexus.

The Google Pixel will reportedly have a 5-inch display, while the Pixel XL will be slightly larger at 5.5-inches. Both models are rumored to have quad-core Qualcomm processors, 12MP rear cameras, 8MP front cameras and 4GB RAM. However, they will have different battery sizes as the XL will have the 2,770mAH and the XL will have 3,450mAh. They will also have different storage capacities. The Pixel and Pixel XL will be officially launched by October 4.

As for the pricing, the outlet speculates that the 16GB version of the Pixel will be around $380 and the 32GB version will be around $440. Meanwhile, its larger sibling will have three different storage capacities. The 16GB version of the Pixel XL will be around $580, the 64GB will be around $650 and the 128GB will be around $750.
