Android Lollipop Coming to Motorola, HTC, LG, Samsung, and Nexus Phones Soon

Google's latest mobile operating system, the Android Lollipop is soon to be released to the public but which phones will be getting the updates when it comes out? Much like Android KitKat, it generally depends on what make your phone is and to which carrier you are subscribed but it would seem that most phone manufacturers are already planning to update users to Lollipop when it comes out.

Google's Nexus line will probably be the first smartphones to get the Lollipop update, whereas the Nexus 6 smartphone and the Nexus 9 tablet already have Android Lollipop out of the box. The Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 are slated to get the update and while there haven't been any announcements, early November is looking to be a probable date.

HTC on the other hand is planning to get the One M8 and One M7 to Android Lollipop and Jeff Gordon, the company's global online communications manager, has announced that both phones will be getting the upgrade within 90 days of the software's release.

Motorola is planning to get Android Lollipop to a large number of their devices, namely the first and second generation Moto X, the Moto G, the Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini.

Samsung has been having troubles bringing the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat updates to their phones so it isn't surprising to not hear from them regarding the Lollipop updates. There are rumors that the Galaxy S5 and S4 would be getting the update sometime in December before the year ends.

LG also hasn't revealed which phones will be getting the update but rumors point to the G3 getting Android Lollipop before the year ends, with the G2 getting the update sometime early 2015.
