Anne Hathaway Engaged: Fiance Gives $150K Ring

Anne Hathaway has become engaged to long-term boyfriend Adam Shulman, who proposed to her with a custom-made $150,000 ring.

People Magazine first photographed Hathaway wearing the ring alongside actor Adam Shulman in a Brooklyn park. Shulman has appeared in movies like Dukes of Hazzard and the show American Dreams. Hathaway’s representative, Stephen Huvane has confirmed the engagement news.

Hathaway became well known for her role in Disney’s Princess Diaries and the sequel “Princess Diaries 2: A Royal engagement.”

In an interview with Gala magazine the actress said, “I was afraid that I would only marry because I wanted to live out a little girl's fantasy.”

However after dating Shulman she says, “That's not the case anymore."

More recently, Hathaway has played in The Devil Wears Prada, Bride Wars, and Valentine’s Day. It was also announced in January that she would play the role of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

Adam Shulman, who recently co-launched a jewelry collection that includes a light bulb shaped pendant, earrings, and butterfly necklaces, was also reported to have contributed to the design of Hathaway’s engagement ring, which was made my Kwiat jewelers.

Hathaway had described her relationship with Shulman as mellow to Harper’s Bazaar, and said, "Mellow doesn't always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life."
