Apple iOS 9 Release Date, Features Rumors: OS Improvement to Focus on Speed, Optimization, and Stability
The talks of Apple's next edition of operating system, the iOS 9, have been emerging in the last month or so. Apparently, this indicates that the Cupertino-based tech giant is now getting ready for the major roll out of the new system probably to meet the anticipated WWDC conference schedule, which will take place this June.
Codenamed Monarch, 9to5Mac said in their recent update that despite expectations that the tech company will present new marquee features, it will now, focus more on improving the OS's speed, optimization, and stability.
According to the website, "iOS 9 engineers are putting a 'huge' focus on fixing bugs, maintaining stability, and boosting performance for the new operating system, rather than solely focusing on delivering major new feature additions."
This move is probably an answer to the pressing problems of which the latest iOS releases and features has caused including the overall performance of the operating system.
Other than that, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus maker will continue its efforts to "keep the size of the OS and updates manageable, especially for the many millions of iOS device owners with 16GB devices."
"It's unclear whether this might be accomplished by limiting iOS 9 support to relatively recent devices. If the iPhone 5c, original iPad mini, and fifth-generation iPod touch are discontinued by the end of 2015, all of Apple's "currently available" iOS devices would be using 64-bit A7, A8, and A9 processors. This could simplify iOS development for both Apple and third-party app developers," the site added.
