'Arrested Development' Season 5 or Movie? Netflix in Talks for Series' Next Step

It appears that a fifth season of cult comedy favorite "Arrested Development" may be the next step as opposed to a movie, which fans have been expecting since the series was first cancelled in 2006.

At the Allen & Co. conference in Sun Valley, Idaho Imagine Entertainment co-chairman Brian Grazer spoke with Bloomberg Television about the hit comedy. Grazer seemed to imply that a fifth season is a very real possibility.

"We are in conversations with [Netflix] to do another. They are interested in doing that," Grazer said. Grazer did not mention anything about an "Arrested Development" movie.

There have been other nods to the idea of a fifth "Arrested Development" season.

Reed Hasting, Netflix CEO, implied the possibility of a fifth season back in May.

"If the talent were willing to do more and interested in that, I'm sure we would be willing," Hastings told CNBC.

It did seem as if the ending of season four was setting the show up to continue. The season ended on a huge cliff hanger, with a dead Lucille 2 and pleanty of potential suspects.

However, there are real roadblocks. Those are mainly the cast's availability. With a star-studded cast such as Jason Bateman, Will Arnet, Michael Cera, and Jessica Walters, David Cross, and Portia DiRossi among others, it's hard to find time to shoot a whole season with everyone present.

"They're very in-demand movie and TV stars, and they're all working full-time and doing this show in between. They did it for the love of the show and for Mitch Hurwitz. If we can muster up that love again, we'd love to do it again," Hasting said.
