Arrow Season 5 Updates: "Jessica Jones" Star Helps Arrow; 'Human Target' Joins Team Arrow in Protecting Star City

Human Target becomes Oliver's bodyguard on the latest season of "Arrow" as he and his team face new villains.

Oliver Queen is not just protecting Star City as the Arrow. Since he became mayor, he has also been also fighting crime, facing bad guys, and getting a lot of paperwork done at the same time. With a number of bad guys coming his way in Season 5, it looks like the Arrow will be needing help more than ever.

But truth is, he is never far from help. He has Team Arrow backing him up, and a new ally coming from "Jessica Jones".

Christopher "Human Target" Chance (Will Traval), Jessica Jones' co-star, will join the Arrow and his army as they fight more villains heading their way. Although Human Target sounds new on "Arrow", this is not the first time that he was seen by fans. However, this is Human Target's first time to join current DC TV Universe, which only happens on CW.

Traval will take on Human Target's character and will be first seen on "Arrow" Episode 5. Chance will take Oliver as his newest client so he could "protect" the mayor when he needs it. He is actually a master of disguise; his strategy is to take in the identity of his clients when they are in danger of being attacked by criminals or assassins.

Human Target— a superhuman in the world of humans

Christopher Chance obviously has superhuman skills, but he is nothing more than a human. His mission is simply to protect the mayor. But fans find it difficult to imagine if Oliver will be able to admit that he really needs help from the Human Target.

From Fred Venable to Christopher Chance

Human Target initially appeared in comic books in 1953 under the name Fred Venable. But this name did not click and thus, he was renamed Christopher Chance. Chance's character initially debuted in 1972, and appeared in a number of titles as well. It was in 2000 that he was able to get his own series.

Human Target once appeared on television in the early 1990s. Rick Springfield played the lead role. This series was short-lived. Another similar series debuted in 2010 and Chance was played by Mark Valley.

'All Saints' Will Traval

Australians know Will Traval as the actor from "All Saints." He became a household name in Australia because of the highly-popular series. Soon he was known in the U.S in "Red Widow" from ABC. Traval is likewise popular as "Once Upon A Time's" Sheriff of Nottingham. And of course, he is also Will 'Nuke' Simpson from the "Jessica Jones" series.

Season 5 air date

Arrow will come back on The CW for Season 5 on October 5, Wednesday, at 9:00 p.m. ET.
