As "Twilight" fans anxiously anticipate the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" this week, Ashley Greene has offered hope that Kristen Stewart's affair will not "taint" the film.

Greene opened up about the cheating scandal between her "Twilight" co-stars Stewart and Rob Pattinson just days before the last installment to the series, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," hit theaters.

"Hopefully it won't taint [the movie] and people will still be able to enjoy it," said the actress when asked her thoughts on Stewart's admission of cheating on Pattinson, according to Seventeen magazine.

"I think a lot of people see us as our characters," added Greene, who portrays vampire Alice Cullen in the films. "I really want them to still be able to do that."

In July, Stewart, 22, publicly apologized to her boyfriend Pattinson, 26, for a "momentary indiscretion" involving her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

Meanwhile, neither Stewart nor Pattinson has confirmed the status of their relationship, but the pair appears to be reuniting as they have been spotted out together numerous times in recent months.

The actors' real-life romance likely materialized while playing Edward and Bella Cullen in the "Twilight" films, and both actors have legions of fans rooting for their reconciliation.

On Monday, Stewart and Pattinson posed together on the red carpet in Los Angeles during the "Breaking Dawn- Part 2" premiere, adding to the excitement of "Twilight" fans."

During their first official appearance together following their break up, Stewart wore a lacey nude Zuhair Murad gown, while Pattinson donned a forest green Gucci suit.

Although they remain silent about their relationship, Stewart and Pattinson were spotted in New York City together last week celebrating a mutual friend's birthday at the Beatrice Inn. Moreover, last month, the pair was spotted in L.A. attending a Prince concert together.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" opens in theaters Friday.
