Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis News: Actress Explains Why They Opted Not To Give Gifts To Their Kids This Christmas

Christmas is coming, but Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis will not let their children receive any gifts this year.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight's Brooke Anderson, Kunis explained why her 3-year-old daughter Wyatt and 1-year-old son Dimitri will not get any presents from them or from anyone else for the upcoming holidays.

According to the "Bad Moms Christmas" actress, her own childhood and beliefs shaped her opinion about the Christmas traditions.

Kunis explained that since she grew up in communist Russia, she was used to the very quiet holiday traditions. She was also taught that Christmas is a very religious holiday, which is why only Christians can celebrate it with a Mass. Since she is Jewish, she grew up knowing that Christmas is not for her.

When she arrived in the US, her family started incorporating the holiday traditions in their lives. They used it as an excuse to get together and get drunk. But she and her husband Kutcher decided to start a new family tradition now that they have their own children. This is when they opted not to give Christmas presents.

"We're instituting it this year because when the kids are [around age] 1, it doesn't really matter. Last year when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was 2and it was too much. We didn't give her anything - it was the grandparents. The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don't even know what they're expecting; they're just expecting stuff," the actress stated in the interview.

She also mentioned that she begged their parents to cooperate with their new tradition. But if both sets of grandparents will insist to give something to their kids, she said that they gave them an alternative option.

"We've told our parents, 'We're begging you - if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we'd like to take a charitable donation to the Children's Hospital or a pet -- whatever you want.' That's our new tradition," she also said.

In another interview with Marie Claire that was reported by E! News, Kunis confessed that she has the tendency to be lenient with her children sometimes whenever she wants to have an ideal day.

According to the mother of two, she would love to sleep in until 7 a.m. with her husband while turning on the TV to allow her kids to watch some cartoons, eating breakfast in bed, then go to a park, zoo, or aquarium without being followed by the paparazzi.

Kunis' new film "Bad Moms Christmas" is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
