Asus Pegasus 5000 Launched in China; Specs Include 5.5-Inch Display, 13MP Camera, Android Lollipop

Taiwanese tech company Asus has another new device for all of its fans after the Pegasus 2 Plus that arrived in stores last December. According to Phones Review, the company has recently introduced its mid-ranger called the Pegasus 5000.

It was also spotted in the certification process in China before and it revealed some of the specs that will be included once it hits the shelves. This gives interested buyers a heads up on what they will be getting if they opt to purchase one.

As noted in The Times of India, the Pegasus 5000 is said to carry a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It will be powered with a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. There will be two variants available, one with 2 GB of RAM while the other one will have 3 GB of RAM. Both will be equipped with 16 GB of inbuilt storage and can be expanded further via a microSD card slot.

Just like the Asus Pegasus 2 Plus, the new handset will be pre-installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop as its operating system. It will also come with dual SIM functionality and will feature basic connectivity options like 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

As for the camera specs, the Pegasus 5000 will be equipped with a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The battery included is a hefty 4,850 mAh pack, offering long-lasting power enough for all-day use. Color options available include white and blue, as noted in Dekh News.

The device will be made available via China Telecom and it is said to come with a price tag of CNY 1,299 ($198) for the 2 GB RAM variant and CNY 1,799 ($274) for the 3 GB version. There is no announcement yet regarding a global rollout of the Asus Pegasus 5000 but it's expected to be available in other regions.
