'Avengers 2 Age of Ultron' Movie Release Date: New Group Photo of Superheroes Revealed

To further whet the appetite of the eagerly-awaiting fans, Walt Disney Studios has released a new promo photo for their upcoming superhero film offering "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

According to ComicBook.com, the rather recognizable still is actually taken from the party scene which was featured in one of the released Avengers' trailers. They were seen in the video hanging out and toying with Thor's hammer. Shortly after, the gathering was crashed with one of Tony Stark's creations, Ultron, who appears threatening. It eventually alarmed the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

As for the image, it appears that to be taken from the perspective of James Spader's Ultron as he addresses the Avengers.

The image encompassed several superhero characters that are set to appear in the movie including Scarlett Johansson (as Agent Romanov/Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (as the Incredible Hulk), Jeremy Renner (as Hawkeye), Robert Downey Jr. (as Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Helmsworth (as Thor), and more others.

A new Age of Ultron character Dr. Cho is also shown featured in the picture, played by Claudia Kim.

For those who missed it, an official synopsis for the forthcoming title was provided by Marvel and it reads:

"When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure."

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will debut in theaters on May 1, 2015.
