Baby Murdered by Teen Robbers in Front of Mother (VIDEO)

A woman in Georgia is reeling after her 13-month-old son was fatally shot by two teenagers during an attempted robbery while they were out on a walk. Police have asked anyone with information for help in locating the two subjects and have begun their own investigation into the killing.

Sherry West and son Antonio were out for a walk in their neighborhood of Brunswick when they were approached by two young African-American boys. One was described as being between 13 and 15, the other, she told police, could have been as young as 10.

The older one said, "I'm gonna kill you if you don't give me your money," West told police. "And I said, 'I swear I don't have any.' He said, 'Well, I'm going to kill your baby,' and I said, 'Please don't kill my baby.'"

She then put her arms over Antonio in an attempt to shield him from any gunshot but unfortunately the teen "shoved" her away and shot Antonio "right in the head," she told CNN. She immediately began CPR on the infant but was unable to revive him; he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

The boys fled the area and have not been seen since; authorities have been unable to locate the weapon as well. Authorities have launched their investigation by checking local schools' attendance logs to see who was in or out of school that day and could have been in the area.

"This is obviously just a terrible day in the city of Brunswick," Mayor Bryan Thompson told Fox News. "It's made even more terrible by the certainly senseless killing of a young child and it appears perpetrated by children themselves."

"I would like to stress and plead with people in this community right now, people are hearing my voice, if you know something about this crime, please call in any information you have. If you are not sharing that information, your finger is on the trigger of that gun just as securely as that finger that was on the trigger by the actual shooter," the Mayor continued.

The Brunswick Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the two suspects. People can call (912) 267-5516 or (912) 264-1333.
