Baptist Hospital Unveils New Joint Replacement Center

Baptist Hospital, Middle Tennessee’s largest not-for-profit community hospital, opened its new state-of-the-art Joint Replacement Center (JOC) on Wednesday.

“Our new Joint Replacement Center is designed to provide an outstanding patient experience,” said Bernie Sherry, president and CEO of Baptist Hospital. “From pre-operative classes to post-operative physical and occupational therapy, a patient’s needs are all met within this center.”

Built out within existing hospital space, the 21,000 square-foot area features 28 private patient rooms, a classroom for teaching, a gym for physical therapy, and an activities room for daily occupational therapy activities.

“There is not another joint replacement center like this in Middle Tennessee,” said Dr. Robert E. Stein. “The facility, the technology and the staff make it a top quality of care experience for the patients, their families and the physicians.”

Baptist Hospital, which is a member of Saint Thomas Health Services, is ranked #1 in Tennessee and “Top 5 Percent in the Nation for Joint Replacement Surgery” by HealthGrades. Physicians perform over 1,600 joint replacements a year at the hospital.
