'Basketball Wives' Evelyn Lozada Reveals Dark Hair, New Image for Season 5 (PHOTO)

Evelyn Lozada recently debuted a new look during an outing with "Basketball Wives" producer Shaunie O'Neal. New reports suggest that the reality TV personality is undergoing an extensive image makeover ahead of season five of the hit reality show.

Lozada and O'Neal, both 37, attended a Christian event, the Faithful Central benefit concert, which was held in Los Angeles on Friday night. Lozada, who is renowned for her violent behavior and foul language, shocked fans by attending the faith-based show, but it was her new appearance which proved to be even more surprising.

The reality TV star showed off a darker hairstyle, and took to her personal Twitter page to announce that she is no longer a blonde by using the hashtag #teamdarkhair in one of her tweets.

"Sat in the salon for almost 5 hours! Color, cut, blow dry! Now i'm getting ready to meet my boo @ShaunieONeal," Lozada tweeted ahead of the church event.

Some critics suspect that Lozada's changes may be directly related to O'Neal's recent assertions that the upcoming season of "Basketball Wives (Miami)" will implement changes and subsequently be completely different.

O'Neal, who also stars in the franchise's Miami spinoff show, previously made assurances to unhappy viewers that both Shed Media, who produces the show, and the Vh1 network, who airs it, are in the process of making changes after receiving widespread criticisms during season four.

She implied that the proposed changes may actually be much more drastic than viewers had initially anticipated while responding to a complaint from a viewer made on Oct. 15 via social networking site Twitter.

"BASKETBALL WIVES LA IS BORING!!!! @SHAUNIEONEAL PLEASE CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!! I JUST CAN'T," Kevin Simmons tweeted on Oct. 15.

"How bout a complete makeover?" O'Neal responded.

Although O'Neal's recent tweet was specifically about the franchise's Los Angeles-based show, the producer previously confirmed that the entire franchise would implement changes to the show's content.

The "Basketball Wives" franchise received an overwhelming number of complaints from viewers, along with threats of a boycott in May, following claims that it promotes bullying and violent behavior among cast mates- particularly on its Miami show. Franchise executives previously addressed these criticisms when it was confirmed that the Miami-based show had been renewed for season five.

"Shed Media US is fully committed to telling the compelling stories of the Basketball Wives in a balanced way...We look forward to working with [Shaunie] and the rest of the cast on conveying more balance in the next season," a Shed Media statement read.
