'Bates Motel' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot News: Freddie Highmore Talks Norman's Evolution Into Adulthood

More doses of intrigue and creepiness are to be expected as the hit thriller drama TV series "Bates Motel" continues on its third season this week.

Tthe show's lead star, Freddie Highmore, talked about his character, Norman Bates, and his gradual evolution to becoming the man it was known in "Psycho" which connects to how its relationship with its mother, Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga), will be played out for the rest of the season.

"I think the way that Norma and Norman's relationship evolves in the third season is very much one of these equals of two adults battling it out, as opposed to Norman being the son," Highmore told The Sydney Morning Herald. "I guess there's always been hints of this sort of husband/wife relationship that Norma and Norman share. And I think it goes a lot more in that direction in the third season."

Will the shady mother-and-son tandem be linked to the cases?
