'Batman: Arkham Knight' DLC: Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #6 Maps Pay Tribute to Fans; Comes to PC with January Update

A new DLC is now available for "Batman: Arkham Knight" PC players to enjoy. The add-on content arrived with the game's Jan. 19, 2016 update.

The new set of Predator and Combat maps is part of the DLC Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #6. The expansion pack contains remastered maps of locations such as Wayne Manor and the Batcave that have been featured in past games like "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City."

Formerly known as the Community Challenge Pack and fittingly so, the maps were taken from fan favorites. Developer Rocksteady had previously asked fans which maps from the past two "Batman" titles above they wanted to have added in "Batman: Arkham Knight" as predator and combat challenge maps.

The developer received more than 800 responses from which they based the final list of maps on. Rocksteady chose three for predator and another three for combat challenges. Five maps were taken from "Batman: Arkham City" and only one map was based on "Batman: Arkham Asylum."

Here is the full list:

Predator challenge maps:

- Wayne Manor Main Hall ("Batman: Arkham City")
- Batcave ("Batman: Arkham City")
- Sanatorium, Medical Facility ("Batman: Arkham Asylum")

Combat challenge maps:

- Iceberg Lounge ("Batman: Arkham City")
- Crime Alley ("Batman: Arkham Knight")
- Monarch Theatre ("Batman: Arkham City")

If the maps themselves don't get fans raving, they most probably will with Rocksteady's inclusion of forum member comments explaining why a certain map is special. As spotted by Kotaku, quotes from actual forum conversations have been transcribed into the game itself. The publication admits it has not seen anything like this before, and although it's most probably for PR purposes and to boost good will, the move is still a good one.

The "Batman: Arkham Knight" Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #6 is now available for free for PC players. It will arrive on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
