'Batman: Arkham Knight' DLC Release Date News: Expansion Set For Dec. 22 Launch; Rocksteady Looking To Release Multiplayer Batman Game?

Warner Bros. Interactive has just announced the Season Pass DLC release for the hit action-adventure game and the fourth installment of the Batman game series, "Batman: Arkham Knight."

As cited over at GearNuke.com, the new DLC will be up for grabs starting December 22 of this year. It will include the titles like "Season of Infamy: Most Wanted Expansion" which, according to the media outlet, will feature some of the classic Batman villains like the Mad Hatter in "Mission: Wonderland," Ra's Al Ghul in "Mission: Shadow War," Mr. Freeze in "Mission: In From the Cold," and Killer Croc in "Mission: Beneath The Surface."

The December add-ons will also feature the following:

Rocksteady Studios will also be rolling out a patch that seeks to enhance the rain effects of the Arkham Knight game. As said by Gear Nuke, the rain downpour will become more prevalent. The fix is slated to arrive for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game next year and later this year for the PC version.

In related news, a report from Gamespot.com cited a NeoGaf user who, in turn, spotted a post from Rocksteady revealing the studio's next plan for the franchise.

According to the report, Rocksteady is currently on the lookout for lead and senior programmers who have a "proven track record as a team lead with experience on at least two successfully published multiplayer titles." Furthermore, the job posting specified that the chosen personnel will be managing "a growing team of network coders" which, as stipulated by Gamespot, strongly implies a multiplayer-focused project.

Taking hints from the details, it appears that Rocksteady and Warner Bros are seeking to expand the popular Batman game series into a multiplayer. However, it might particularly follow the "Batman: Arkham" series since Rocksteady head Sefton Hill already confirmed that "Arkham Knight" will be the last.

Stay tuned for more updates.
