Batman: Arkham Knight PS4, Xbox One Release Date Delay - Might Be Pushed Back to 2015?

The new Batman: Arkham Knight was expected to be out for the PS4 and Xbox One this year, however, the game's release for consoles is rumored to be delayed until 2015.

The news came out after the WonderCon event earlier this year. After a DC All Access Panel showed the trailer for the game, it was announced to the audience that "the game has been pushed to a 2015 release date."

In an interview with Game Informer, the creators of the game revealed that they decided to add more characters after Rocksteady Studios teamed up with DC Comics to make the game more interesting, by developing a "formidable foe" for the Caped Crusader.

"We hadn't in the previous games introduced someone new to the universe," Co-founder of Rocksteady Studios Sefton Hill said. "We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman, who could go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We're not talking about those ways just yet, but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman."

As of now, no specific characters have been revealed for the game, but there are reports that the game developers could also introduce a hero or a villain to "challenge Batman." Reports are saying that the game makers are currently developing a new villain because the existing villains in the game were not quite up to proper standards to battle it out with Batman.

In other news, new details regarding the Scarecrow Nightmare Pack, the PS4-exclusive content headed to Batman: Arkham Knight has been released by Sony. A description about the game on Playstation.com reveals that the Batmobile will play a prominent role in these missions.
