Batman Arkham Launch Trailer Released, Lead Villain Black Mask Showcased (VIDEO)

Warner Bros Game Montreal released the Batman Arkham Origins launch trailer yesterday and it already has close to 200,000 views.

"This trailer showcases Black Mask, the feared gang leader and powerful mob boss in Gotham, now controlling the city's criminal underworld," the trailer's description reads, giving a sneak peek into the game.

It continues, "Black Mask (AKA Roman Sionis) has but one goal this Christmas Eve night, to kill the Batman. With the aim to further tighten his grip on the city, this ruthless and sadistic crime lord will stop at nothing to destroy the vigilante. To get this done, Black Mask has put a bounty on Batman's head, and the eight assassins that are out to claim the prize will be some of the most dangerous and lethal killers the young crime-fighter has ever encountered."

Warner Bros Montreal released another trailer earlier this week showcasing more the game's style.

"Batman: Arkham Origins lets players experience Batman's transformation from an unrefined vigilante into the Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne's journey to become a crime fighter and his steadfast morality began much earlier in his life, formed by tragedy, dedication, and honor. As you'll see in this latest trailer, his quest was anything but easy," the video description said.

Batman: Arkham Origins does not tell the typical Batman story, instead it bypasses the well know beginnings of the crime fighter and jumps to year two.

"So choosing Year Two was a very concerted effort on our part to take a point in time in Batman's career where, he's got some gadgets, his moves, more or less, are starting to become refined, he's got a cool suit, he's been doing it for long enough that he's got confidence, that you're in the skin of this empowering character, and yet we can run him through the gamut, we can put him through a pressure cooker unlike anything he's ever faced before because it's early enough in his career that he hasn't faced some of these defining challenges," said Ben Mattes, WB Montreal's Senior Producer to OXM.uk.

The game is released worldwide tomorrow for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U.
