'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' plot news: General Zod is Doomsday?

While movies have always been the center of theories and rumors in the past decades, all rumors and theories are finally turning into pieces of a puzzle in what could be the biggest superhero battle of all time in the DC universe.

Following weeks of speculation that Batman's partner, Robin, is the latest Joker, another theory has sprung up from General Zod himself, Michael Shannon.

According to Movie Pilot, fans started to speculate that Michael Shannon will be playing the role of a flipper-fingered Doomsday in the film after Shannon said in an interview, "I was in my costume, and I couldn't use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands. So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn't open the door, and I could hear Zack Snyder being like, 'Where's Shannon? Where the f*ck is he?' and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!' "

On the other hand, the outlet notes that though this theory could be true, Shannon's statements don't necessarily imply that he will be playing Doomsday since there are other villains who could turn out to be Doomsday such as King Shark or The Penguin.

Meanwhile, several reports suggest that the upcoming mega-superhero battle movie has obtained a lot of role reversal inspiration from the comic book series "Dark Knight Returns."

In the comic books, the battle between Superman and Batman started after the government insisted that the red-caped hero track down and investigate a troubled black-suited hero.

In the movie, it's the other way around as Batman is the one who will seem to be tracking down the Man of Steel after he witnessed the huge damage resulting from the Metropolis battle between Superman and General Zod.

As to who will win the greatest battle in the superhero world, fans may have to wait until the movie launches next year.
