'Batman vs. Superman' Gets Martian Manhunter, Doomsday? Jason Momoa of 'Game of Thrones' Negotiating Role

The Batman vs. Superman movie could be getting the Martian Manhunter, who is another member of the Justice League, according to the latest reports. Jason Momoa, who plays Dothraki chieftain Khal Drogo in "Game of Thrones," is currently negotiating to join the cast.

The "Man of Steel" sequel has already been populated by several members of the Justice League: Ben Affleck will play Batman, U.K. actor Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, and Israeli "Fast and Furious" actress Gal Godot is now locked in for Wonder Woman. To complete the Justice League would require several others though- the Flash, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter.

In the comics and cartoon shows, J'onn J'onzz the Martian Manhunter is a very powerful being with a variety of superhuman abilities like shapeshifting, super strength, telekinesis and many others. He is also a core member of the Justice League of America.

Because of the Martian Manhunter's similarity to the powers of Superman, some have speculated that Momoa will be playing a different character in the movie- Doomsday, a superhuman villain most famous for killing Superman.

Doomsday in the comics was created from cloning experiments and has superhuman strength, a resistance to almost all weapons, and an accelerated healing factor. The "Man of Steel" sequel has not reportedly cast any villains yet, so Momoa as Doomsday could be a natural catalyst for the beginning of the Justice League.

Doomsday is also hinted at in the "Man of Steel" Blu-ray, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Currently Warner Bros. and DC Comics are keeping a tight lock on any confirmed details, so it is unknown what role Momoa is negotiating for.

Zack Snyder will return to direct "Batman vs. Superman," and the film is slated for release July 17, 2015.
