Battlefield 4 PC Servers Down or Broken After DDOS Hacker Attack

Battlefield 4 PC servers were attacked by hackers this weekend as the game admitted the trouble on their website with a statement.

"We are currently experiencing attacks on our infrastructure that is impacting online gameplay on BF4 PC. We are working on mitigating actions," read the message, which has since been removed, according to Kotaku.

"We are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it ASAP," game developer DICE's Ali Hassoon posted to the Battlefield forums. "I'm sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though."

The attacks to the network caused gamers to not be able to log on, or get stuck with beginner gear as their progress had not existed.

Of the next-gen and current consoles, PC versions of video games are usually seen as the superior medium because of the ever-evolving technology in computers. With that being said, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield will closely resemble their PC counterpart.

The Xbox One version of the game will be running in 720p, while the PS4 will run the game in 900p. What this means is Xbox's graphics will look a bit crispy, but will look a little shakier and lag ever so slightly compared to the PS4. The frame rates for the Sony console will also be quicker.

The game was already released for the PC and Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 29. It arrived with the PS4 on November 15, and will return with the Xbox One on the 22nd.

Computer software graphics creator, AMD, is offering two new bundles for this holiday season that will include either a free copy of Battlefield 4 or Thief.

The Never Settle Forever bundle is for those who buy the Radeon R7 260X graphics card. There are three stages of the bundle, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, with each of the tiers offering one more new game to choose from. The customer will get a choice of two free games with this purchase.

Those who buy the AMD Radeon R9 270 Series will receive a free Battlefield 4. According to Polygon, AMD will be releasing a patch in December to greatly improve the performance of the Frostbite 3 engine in Battlefield 4 and create a nice 1080p gaming experience.
