Bethenny Frankel Opens Up About 'Brutal' Divorce

Bethenny Frankel, the 42-year-old reality television star and entrepreneur, is opening up about her recent divorce filing from her estranged husband Jason Hoppy.

Frankel filed for divorce from Hoppy, 40, last February, with whom she shares a 2-year-old daughter. Although the "Bethenny Ever After" star has been smiling during recent appearances, she opened up about the difficulties of her pending divorce while guest hosting "Good Day New York" alongside morning anchor Greg Kelly Thursday.

"It's rough," Frankel said on the show Thursday. "I have to say, divorce is the most difficult thing you could ever go through in your entire life."

Frankel decided to separate from Hoppy, a businessman, after two years while her estranged husband is still wearing his wedding band. While on "Good Day New York," the former star of "Real Housewives of New York City" called the ending of her marriage nothing short of brutal.

"It's just a brutal unnatural situation and you sort of end up in a situation you thought you'd never be in," she said on show. "I never heard how excruciating it is."

Still, Frankel said her daughter Bryn has helped her get through the ordeal.

"Kids make you do things you'd never do," Frankel told the Fox morning show. "They bring out the best in you."

Although Frankel admitted the issues with her divorce most recently, this is not the first time that she has spoken out about the ending of her marriage. Last February, Frankel opened up to Extra host A.J. Calloway about overcoming her issues with Hoppy.

"I'm going through something very difficult," Frankel told Calloway last February. "And you know what? Every dark cloud has a silver lining. I do have a beautiful daughter and I have a lot of things to be thankful and grateful for."
