'Better Call Saul' Season 2 news: Jimmy McGill to transform into Saul Goodman?

Filming of "Better Call Saul" Season 2 is underway and the first photos from the set have been released showing a tense-looking Jimmy McGill facing two men in dark suits. He looks to be in trouble. The question fans are asking is – will he turn into "Saul Goodman" in Season 2?

The season finale of "Better Call Saul" Season 1 gave us a lot of food for thought. Jimmy tells Mike that he doesn't feel restricted by decency and ethics anymore. He won't let those emotions stop him again, like they had influenced him from keeping the Kettleman money. It was a declaration by Jimmy that from now on, he will start his way to becoming the rule-bending, wily, opportunistic Saul Goodman.

Creators Gould and Gilligan were surprised that many people liked Jimmy McGill more than Saul Goodman. Hence it made sense to let Jimmy be.

Audiences were pleasantly surprised when Jimmy didn't metamorphose into Saul by end of Season 1. Well, the creators were also surprised at how they managed to keep the transformation hanging.

Gould said, "We really thought Jimmy McGill would change his name to Saul Goodman by Episode 10. What that meant was that a lot of our plans had to go out the window, and usually when that happens, there is that moment of panic because you have all these set pieces and scenes you're working toward, but the characters aren't ready for them. That was the hardest part but also the most rewarding part. It was an organic struggle."

With "Better Call Saul" Season 1 having received two awards at the 5th Critics' Choice Television Awards and being nominated in six categories in Primetime Emmy, Season 2 remains a highly anticipated season to watch. Though AMC has announced Season 2 of the series, it's premiere date has not been revealed and it is expected to air in 2016.
