BlackBerry Passport Gold Edition News: Images of Golden BlackBerry Leaked
Luxury and style seem to be BlackBerry's entrance ticket into the already stiff smartphone competition. Reports from Crackberry pointed out a set of leaked images showing a black colored, with gold-trimmings, BlackBerry Passport.
The so-called business smartphone from the Canada-based tech company has been first unveiled with single-colored Piano Black and Porcelain White. Now it is flaunting with golden side bezels (including the upper power and volume buttons).
The leaked images of the Golden Blackberry Passport Edition show that the device is pictured in a retail store. One of the images has also been watermarked with "ParisRoseGold." Paris Rose Gold is a firm known for manufacturing luxurious editions of popular handsets for other companies.
The fan-made website didn't say any further information about the photos but suggested that the gold-trimmed device wasn't put together by BlackBerry.
"The gold trim was added after the fact," the site indicated.
Should the rumors be true, then the BlackBerry Passport Gold Edition won't be the first incident for the company to release a luxury edition of their smartphones. Last year, the BlackBerry Q10 as well as the P'9881 (designed by Porsche) were released in luxurious Gold editions.
Launched last Sept. 24, the new flagship from BlackBerry runs on 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. It has a 3GB worth of RAM and a 32 GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card.
The device also boasts a 13-megapixel back facing OIS camera with BSI sensor with 2-megapixel front snapper. Its 3,450mAh battery is said to last up to 30 hours of moderate to heavy use.
