'Blue Bloods' Season 6 Casting News, Update: Series Calling for Shop Owners, Hipsters, Police Officers and More

Taking hints from this recent casting call news, it appears that filming for the upcoming sixth season of the hit police-procedural TV drama series "Blue Bloods" will begin sooner than what is expected.

A report from Enstars.com cited OnLocationVacations.com's latest scoop saying that the series is looking for a handful of extras including shop owners, hipsters, homeless-type of persons, police officers, medical professionals, and many more, for a scene that will be set in Times Square July 9th, Thursday.

The site noted that for most of its run, the police drama resumes its production around the third or fourth week of July. For season 6, however, they will be starting earlier.

In an earlier interview with Phil Star, cast member Bridget Moynahan (who plays the character Erin Reagan) shared her excitement towards the upcoming production.

"I would say that being on this ensemble for this amount of time definitely brings everyone together," the actress said. "You know, we live together for nine months a year, basically, working together. And we spend much time together that people have, you know, gotten sick, have gotten married, have had babies and we kinda all celebrate this different part of life together on weekly basis."

"Blue Bloods" Season 6 premieres this fall on CBS.
