'Bones' Season 11 News, Cast, Spoilers: Sparks Between Brennan and Booth Are Returning

"Bones" is one of Fox's long-running shows. Being on its 10th year, it's no surprise that the relationship between Brennan (Emily Deschannel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) will be a bit stagnant after a while, especially with developing stories going deeper and deeper each year. However, good news awaits fans of the couple as it seems that the two will get back into their groove entering season 11.

According to showrunner Michael Peterson, who spoke to TVLine, he mentioned how the two will be able reignite the flame in season 11. Peterson shared, "It's happier in the bigger sense of we're not doing the gambling, getting-kicked-out-of-the-house [story] — at least not yet. But what we're doing is making sure that they still have the fire." Peterson further adds that he is quite aware that their chemistry is one of the main attractions of the show and so it's important to keep it interesting. "It is the reason why we watch them. We love to see them going back and forth at each other. A lot of shows have the problem of once somebody gets married, the banter gets a little stale. They're a little too nice and too sweet with each other."

Perhaps one of the many reasons why the relationship of the two got stale in season 10 was due to the heavy story line that followed. Not only was it noticed by fans and production alike, but as well as the actors themselves as it was reported that Borneanaz and Deschannel both approached Peterson and other showrunners about this matter. They requested that with the return of the show for season 11, that the "fire" be brought back as well.

Peterson also revealed an episode teaser, which shows how the show is going to make things interesting for the couple. He said, "So we've got a really fun story line that brings that to the fore in the Betty White story, which is episode 4. We really do want to embrace, 'Yeah, we're married, but we are not boring, and we're going to go at it.'"

"Bones" airs on Thursdays on FOX, 8 p.m. ET/PT.
