Brad Pitt, Actor, Does Chanel No. 5 Campaign for $7 Million (VIDEOS)

Pitt is First Male to Become the Face of Chanel

Brad Pitt, an actor of "iconic" proportions, is working with women's perfume Chanel No. 5 as their new representative. A new commercial featuring Pitt's seductive voice is being filmed along with teasers to promote the fragrance.

Brad Pitt's involvement with Chanel No. 5 didn't come cheap, however— the actor claimed a $7 million payday for his services, according to Daily Mail. Still, the first man to become the face of Chanel No. 5 in its 91-year history will be well worth it in terms of sales.

"No. 5 is the most iconic fragrance of our time, and Brad Pitt is the most iconic actor of our time," a statement by the brand read. Pitt follows in the footsteps of megastars like Marilyn Monroe, Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tatou, and Catherine Deneuve, but will keep things "fresh" with his masculine perspective.

"To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view. It is the first time we've had a man speaking about a women's fragrance," Andrea d'Avack, a Chanel spokesman, said in May. "We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No. 5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level."

That investment included springing for director Joe Wright, who worked with Keira Knightley on "Atonement" and "Anna Karenina" previously. He shot teasers that feature only Pitt's distinctive voice, and the pair is working on a commercial to be released soon.

"Do you feel lucky? Why?" Pitt questions in one teaser.

"Are you going somewhere? Where?" he says in another.

So far the teasers seem to be a hit for their intended audience: female consumers.

"Anywhere with you Brad," wrote one YouTube user underneath in the teaser's comment section.

"I'd recognize his voice anywhere," posted the next commenter.

They're for even more of Pitt's sultry ways in the commercial, which is to be released Oct. 15, 12:01 a.m. Paris time.
