Spies in Love

Brad Pitt is certainly no stranger to war period movies, having previously appeared in "Inglorious Basterds" and "Fury". His new World War II movie, "Allied", may have similarities with the two previously mentioned movies, but it is also somehow reminiscent of another one of his past movies. If only because of its story of two spies falling in love and Pitt's chemistry with the lead actress, the upcoming movie could very well remind everyone of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith".

Aside from Pitt and Cotillard, the movie also stars Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Goode, Raffey Cassidy, Charlotte Hope, and Jared Harris. Oscar winner Robert Zemeckis directs this period spy thriller from the original screenplay by Steven Knight. Filming of the movie took place in London, with additional production taking place in the Canary Islands.

Release Date

The movie is a reunion for Zemeckis and Paramount Pictures, following their collaboration in the 2012 hit film "Flight". The movie received two Oscar nominations. Paramount Pictures is hoping to at least duplicate, if not exceed the critical and commercial successes with of "Flight" with "Allied". It has given the new movie the awards season release date of November 23 in order to push its chances come awards season.

Teaser Trailer

Viewers finally got to see the extended look for "Allied" via a teaser trailer that was first shown on Friday. The Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour can be seen at one point, saying that being in her line of work is not beautiful. The action-packed trailer also features flashes of a wedding, swastikas, and guns, of course.

"Allied" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on November 23.
