'Bridget Jones's Baby' Release Date Confirmed, Lead Stars Spotted Filming Scenes

The third installment of the "Bridget Jones" franchise is coming soon to theaters as reports say that the premiere date of the "Bridget Jones's Baby" movie is already confirmed. According to Venture Capital Post, the chick flick starring Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth is officially set for a September 2016 release.

The movie is also already making some progress as the two stars have been spotted filming some scenes. According to a recent update from Just Jared, Zellweger, who will reprise the role as Bridget Jones, was seen in the streets of London with Firth, who will return to the film as Mark Darcy. The source stated that the two seemed to be shooting a baby christening scene. They are spotted having a serious conversation that looks like something isn't right.

Not a lot of plot details have been released yet but it's certain that "Grey's Anatomy" alumni Patrick Dempsey will be joining the cast. The role he will be playing in the upcoming film isn't known yet but speculations surfaced that he might be Bridget's latest love interest. And it might just be true as Daily Mail reported that there are released photographs of Dempsey and Zellwegger showing some PDA on-set.

According to the source, the actors were seen in the Olympic Park sharing smiles, hugs and kisses while the cameras were rolling. Zellweger's fake baby bump was also spotted. Some of the photos released also showed Firth arriving into the scene, although it's speculated that he arrived after Dempsey left. Not much can be taken from the teaser photos but it has certainly left several fans wondering who is the father of Bridget's baby.

"Bridget Jones's Baby" is the third sequel to the series after "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (2004). It follows the story of British publishing executive Bridget Jones as she enters her 40s and take on a new season in her life including taking care of a baby.

The film is scheduled to be released on Sept. 16, 2016 and is directed by Sharon Maguire.
