Bristol Palin 'Not Afraid' to Tell All: Losing Her Virginity While Drunk, Views on the McCains

Bristol Palin reveals in her memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, that she lost her virginity while drunk. She also talks about her experiences during the 2008 campaign trail.

The 20-year-old single mother wrote on the night she conceived, “I didn’t know that girl flavored wine coolers were just as likely to get you drunk as the hard stuff” while she was on a camping trip with then boyfriend Levi Johnston.

Before the incident, she vowed to wait until marriage but with no memories of what happened, she got pregnant regardless of being on birth control pills to treat cramps.

When she revealed to her parents that she was pregnant they were accepting and didn’t condemn her for her mistake. They were focused on the future and her education, she wrote.

Meanwhile, when she told Johnston she was pregnant, his immediate response was: “Better be a [expletive] boy.”

She expressed her disappointment over Johnston’s choices while they were caught in the media spotlight.

“The gnat named Levi Johnston constantly spreading false accusations against our family," she wrote, while calling him a self-involved slacker "who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates."

According to Palin, he took advantage of his position in the family and cashed in his fame. When she found out about posing nude for Playgirl she simply wanted to “puke!”

Johnston said he will share his side of his story and set the record straight in his upcoming book Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs.

Since the birth of her son Tripp she has become a spokeswoman for preventing teen pregnancy.

In her book, she also shares her first meeting with John McCain and his family after her mother, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, was chosen to run with McCain as his vice presidential candidate. She wrote that she felt uncomfortable with Meghan McCain who made her feel as if she “might need to watch her back.”

“Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining. Oh the complaining,” she wrote.

Her immediate reaction when meeting Cindy McCain was: “[Cindy] looks like a queen and holds herself like royalty – I've never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup."

Palin was surprised over Cindy’s proposition when she offered to be the godmother of her then un-born baby. “I had just met her and I wondered why she wanted any type of guardianship over my child."
