Building 429 jumps on with Word Label

Word Label Group announces the signing of Building 429 to Squint Entertainment. Building 429 is a Christian rock band who looks forward partnering up with Word Label Group to spread their ministry.

"We are extremely excited to be a part of the Word family," says frontman Jason Roy. "It took many months in prayer, deliberating on what the Lord would have us do with His ministry, but we truly feel blessed that we've been afforded this opportunity. Our new home at Word is full of amazing people who we believe will help us impact the world one step at a time and we can't wait to get to work!"

Building 429 began as an independent band in 2000 with members Roy (lead vocals, guitar) and Scotty Beshears (bass), and later adding Paul Bowden (guitar) and Michael Anderson (drums). This North Carolina based band was introduced to Word Label group by Sr. Director of A&R, Blaine Barcus. "I am thrilled to be working with Building 429. Their relationship with Word began earlier this year when our publishing folks began hooking Jason Roy up with great producer/writers like Jim Cooper. These four guys have it all; sincere faith in Jesus, a vision for ministry, amazing talent, and a strong work ethic. We are prepared to rock with this band!"

In the past three years, the band has sold more than 6,000 copies of their independent project and performed at over 400 concerts with the most recent one involving an opening act for Sonicflood’s 2003 fall tour, “Cry Holy.” Those 400 concerts have taken the band to many places especially throughout the South and Eastern Seaboard, to Alaska where they did a tour and to New York where they came to perform regularly. Such accomplishments surely did not go unnoticed.

"The Label Group is very pleased to have Building 429 as a part of our fold; they are an impressive group of talented young men," states Word Label Group President, Barry Landis. "These guys have been working hard the past three years on their own as an independent band, and now we are excited to partner with them and help take Building 429 to the next level."

Building 429 is currently in the studio recording five songs to be released on an EP in April 2004, with a full-length project planned for the Fall.

Building 429 has signed an exclusive booking agreement with Creative Artist Agency (CAA). The band is managed by Tamara Alan and Jason Ingram for Talan Management.
